Tumblr Accountability: 2012: Day Fifty

This was a big day for me in the Tumblr Accountability department because it was the 50th day of the year, and 50th day of me being transparent about how I’m eating, no matter how terribly.

There are some thing that can be noted about the last 50 days:

1) I never once purchased vegan ice cream (or consumed any that I can recall in any location), nor did I eat at my favorite vegan food cart, nor did I purchase bbq sauce, peanut butter, ketchup, and probably a few other foods that normally get me into trouble.

That’s not to say I haven’t gotten into trouble, but I got into far LESS trouble than I used to.

2) Being accountable to Tumblr did reign me in on a LOT of bad things. Such as, during my sickness/emotional crisis aftermath, I still didn’t break down and buy ice cream, chips, or peanut butter. I ate a LOT of pasta, but again, bad things didn’t turn into Disastrous Things.

3) Almost every accountability post I’ve put up has gotten a “like” on it, and the ones that didn’t were the ones where I was being naughty. You guys are reading them, and giving me positive reinforcement when I make better decisions. Which goes to show I really am being accountable to myself, AND people are witnessing it. Which means I can’t bullshit anyone. Me or you.

Okay. So here we go.

Breakfast:

  • Attempted to drink Gatorade. Did not stay down.

Snack:

  • Vegan macaroni (a full bowl, eaten slowly over hours)

Lunch:

  • Tofu scramble (3/4 block tofu, nutritional yeast, tumeric, salt, and olive oil), also eaten slowly, and I threw on a couple tablespoons of my roommate’s ketchup on.

Snack:

  • Pasta: spaghetti w/ olive oil, garlic, and nutritional yeast.
  • Can of roommate’s Minute Maid lemonade (the 5-calories-per-can kind)

Through the day:

  • WATER. Like nuts.

Dinner:

  • Pasta (same as snack) with two Boca Burger Original Vegan patties (they’re 80 cal. per patty) and some Asian sweet pepper/weird stuff (I was stealing condiments from my roommate because of reasons)

Dessert:

  • 1 cinnamon bun-flavored Lara bar (delightful)
  • A few bites of oatmeal made w/ jam and soy milk (I don’t know why I even made this but I immediately didn’t want it and the rest became today’s breakfast)

Exercise: I managed to do a lot of housework once my headache/earache/stomachache subsided. My evening was quite active with dishes, laundry, and general tidying.

Grade for Today: I’ll say C. I mean, it was carbs and protein and probably too many calories, but not a disaster.

What I did well today:

1) 2 loads of laundry!

2) Changed my sheets! (and the ones I put on the bed ALL matched!)

3) ALL of my dishes (I was really bad and letting all of my Pyrex lunch containers pile up for a week)

4) I went to bed on time so that I would be functional today. Quite necessary as my boss is out for another day due to a family emergency, and I will need to be The Queen Of The Office.

Here’s to another 316 days of improving my habits, being honest about when I do well, AND when I fail, and overall becoming a better Kelzor.

Running and laughing at NBC comedies and occasionally becoming explosively angry about the Religious Right.

Just two years ago I weighed 295 pounds and didn't think I had anything to live for. Now I'm the happiest I've ever been.
