Omg why is it about running all day today?

Okay question.

Let’s say, for the sake of just hypotheticals and what have you, I’ll be doing my first half marathon on July 4th…

What level of Hal Higdon’s training guides should I use? Obviously not advanced, but I don’t know if I’m Novice 1, Novice 2, or Intermediate.

Novice 1 looks like it starts too slow for me (up to 11 miles the first week),

Novice 2 starts at 13 miles for the first week.

Intermediate is basically 19 miles and speedwork the first week.

Novice 2?

I’m just getting reassurance from y’all because I know a LOT of you have familiarity with these plans and I’ve not been following any training schedule except my “uh, this sounds good” one.

Intermediate looks like it’s not just about getting the half done, but about getting it done fast. And that’s not what I care about.

Anyway if you want to look at them here you go: http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51130/Half-Marathon-Training-Guide
