Anonymous asked: Your period is disruptive that you feel uncomfortable exercising during it? I used to get a lot of pain and blood flow for 4-5 days, so I talked to a doctor and got my cycle regulated with hormones. If your cycle is average, the endorphins from exercise are supposed to make cramps feel better, except not in my experience until I went on hormones.
The cramps feel better when I run.
What doesn’t feel better:
1) The fatigue. I get wiped out like CRAZY during the first 36-48 hours of my period.
2) My body temperature also goes up a few degrees. It feels like a mild fever for the first day or so. Last night I had to spend part of the night without my blankets on.
3) I also go through this weird experience of bloating and then needing to pee every five minutes. Bloat for half the day, go to the loo more frequently than normal for the other half of the day. Running while being bloated isn’t ridiculous, but needing to pee like crazy is bad. Fortunately I was a bloated runner last night.
4) TMI but I also have to poo like crazy during my period and I’m not even sure why that’s the case but that’s unpleasant to run with.
There’s more to menses than cramps.
